Instructors Beto and Luis were a big part of this experience. They made everyone feel safe, but I guess this is what you anyway expect. But that they are also funny and witty in the best sence is a pure bonus.

(Also I'm expecting Beto to remember the most important Estonian words as I hope many Estonians will find you.)

  On a 4x4 excursion from the Marella Explorer we were picked up at the port by Phillip who was one of the best, funny & entetaining tour guides ever. ... read more /> The tour itself was interesting and the commentary knowledgeable and entertaining. The off road parts were maybe a bit shorter than I hoped but they were fun & Phillip was hilarious in his driving style & communications.
There were several photo stops on the tour including the scenic glass walkway. There was also a refreshment stop where we were helped with the menu language.
A very good trip & Phillip deserves a lot of praise for his delivery.

  I booked and paid for a sunrise tour on August 26, 2022. I received an email confirmation of my payment but nothing else about pick-up time or location. I called... read more the tour operator to ensure I was confirmed for the tour (scheduled on September 3, 2022). I was reassured that my booking was confirmed. I asked about the pick-up time but was told I’ll receive information the day before the tour starts. I got a phone call the day prior to the tour informing me that the tour was canceled due to not enough participants. Canceling my tour the day before it starts is a big inconvenience because I’m on holiday for one week on this island, and one day is such short notice (and impossible) for me to book another tour. Very frustrated!

Canyoning was the first time for me. It was epic. Definitely recommended experience for everyone to try out. Just make sure you pick the right level. Be true with yourself! There are some high jumps. It was cold, I think the water about 5 degrees. Air temperature about 8. Altitude 1500m+.
But we had 5ml wetsuits, neoprene socks, canyoning boots, helmets, kept us surprisingly warm. Beautiful going down the Ribiero Frío.

Coasteering was amazing the day before. The sea water is about 18 degrees so was a lot warmer!! Air temperature about 16 being by the coast. Awesome jumps. Great scenery. Snorkeling and chocolate bar was a great plus!

  Although we had done canyoning before, we accidentally booked the beginners experience, and we were a bit worried that it might not be challenging enough, especially for our 15 and... read more 18 year old sons. Also, the group consisted of about 16 people, and we prepared ourselves for a lot of waiting.
However, once we got underway, we were pleasantly surprised - although the course was not super challenging, it was far from boring, and we had a lot of fun. Also, the guides worked together very efficiently, so that the group could keep moving for most of the course.
But what really made it go from good to awesome was the interaction with our guides, Beto, Filipe and Jerome. They were very clear with their instructions, taking safety very seriously, but also constantly joking around, chatting with everyone, playful with the kids but just as much with the adults in the group. If anyone was scared to do something, they would encourage and help, but there was usually also an easier way of doing something, and they never forced it.
We would all highly recommend this tour, big kudos and thank you to the guides for making it awesome!!

Excellent guides (three for a party of nine), made a real effort to make sure we had a great day. Over 600 excellent photos taken by the guides as a great memento of our journey down the river. The age of participants varied from 23 to 59, all of us had a reasonable level of fitness.

For our last day in Madeira, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and try something different.. canyoning, best decision ever! The experience was challenging, exciting, daring, adventurous but most importantly unforgettable in the best way possible. Sandro & Filipe are hands down the best instructors I’ve ever come across in my entire life! They were so PASSIONATE in what they were doing, so funny so ENTERTAINING and made sure EVERYONE was having a great time! Not to mention they made sure they captured hundreds of photos of our group along the way- which I’m so glad about hehehe! All in all, I 10000000% would recommend canyoning to any couple, friends, family. My boyfriend and l did level 1 together and we’re so glad we got to experience this adventure together, we got to make wonderful memories that we will cherish forever, and that’s all thanks to Sandro and Filipe for everything they’ve done- seriously I cannot thank them or praise them enough!
