  Hands down the best experience ever!!! Wow. Madeira was a magical trip and we got to save the best part for last! I’ve never tried or even considered trying canyoning... read more in my life before (I wasn’t even sure what it was haha). For our last day in Madeira, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and try something different.. canyoning, best decision ever! The experience was challenging, exciting, daring, adventurous but most importantly unforgettable in the best way possible. Sandro & Filipe are hands down the best instructors I’ve ever come across in my entire life! They were so PASSIONATE in what they were doing, so funny so ENTERTAINING and made sure EVERYONE was having a great time! Not to mention they made sure they captured hundreds of photos of our group along the way- which I’m so glad about hehehe! All in all, I 10000000% would recommend canyoning to any couple, friends, family. My boyfriend and l did level 1 together and we’re so glad we got to experience this adventure together, we got to make wonderful memories that we will cherish forever, and that’s all thanks to Sandro and Filipe for everything they’ve done- seriously I cannot thank them or praise them enough! I am looking forward to going for Level 2 in the near future xx

  We had a half day jeep tour with Discovery Island in the Camara De Lobos area on the island. My partner and I had the jeep to ourselves with our... read more tour guide driving us. Our guide was very nice, and really informative. He took us to get some super, delicious and authentic Poncha at a little bar in the mountains (so cheap too). That was a real highlight. We also stopped for so many amazing views of the mountains and we even went offroading for a bit. We stopped at a fishing village and had some spare time to walk around and finished our day at the Madeira Skywalk (platform with glass floor leading down to the beach).

Our tour was included in our travel package and we enjoyed it thoroughly. They picked us up, and dropped us off at our hotel.

  Today we did a canyoning tour with Discovery Island Madeira and it was fantastic. We did the winter-canyon Ribeiro Frio and the environment was gorgeous. Several abseil waterfalls and... read more jumps. A good idea to do this activity when it rains. Since you're already wet, the rain doesn't bother you and makes the forest look even greener. You feel completely safe because of the experienced guides who take the time to explain everything and check the equipment. The wetsuits and shoes are also of great quality. And above all, it's really fun with guides Sandro, Filipe and "intern" Alex, who should definitely get a contract with a huge salary ;).

  I have visited Madeira numerous times, and done canyoning and coasterring with discovery island which were brilliant and I couldn't fault it. So this year I decided to go kayaking... read more with my son. Different experience as the we were put with another company Madeira Sea Emotions. The instructor did not introduce himself or bother to know our names. The info during the trip was limited, we had a rough beach landing where I injured my shin and then the staff disappeared and left us to work out which boat to catch back to the Marina. I've tried to complain to Discovery Island about this but they have failed to respond. Won't be using them again!
