For our last day in Madeira, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and try something different.. canyoning, best decision ever! The experience was challenging, exciting, daring, adventurous but most importantly unforgettable in the best way possible. Sandro & Filipe are hands down the best instructors I’ve ever come across in my entire life! They were so PASSIONATE in what they were doing, so funny so ENTERTAINING and made sure EVERYONE was having a great time! Not to mention they made sure they captured hundreds of photos of our group along the way- which I’m so glad about hehehe! All in all, I 10000000% would recommend canyoning to any couple, friends, family. My boyfriend and l did level 1 together and we’re so glad we got to experience this adventure together, we got to make wonderful memories that we will cherish forever, and that’s all thanks to Sandro and Filipe for everything they’ve done- seriously I cannot thank them or praise them enough!   Absolutely last minute cancellation for coasteering. We were booked on for two people for coasteering, and they accepted the booking.
About a week before, they called us to ask... read more if we can change to a different date, but we had other things planned so we said we couldn't make a different date, and told them that if the trip was going to be cancelled, we should be informed then so we can make alternative plans.

They reassured us "No, no, the date is fine. The activity will go ahead". I called two days before to confirm the pick-up location, and it still sounded like everything was going ahead as before.
Then, at 7pm the evening before the trip (which was due to depart at like 8am the next day), they called to cancel.

Absolutely scummy business, they know that if they cancel at 7pm the day before the activity, all other places will be closed and it's too last minute to organise another activity, so you can't go to another company. Honestly, I understand if they told me a week before that the trip can't go on because of insufficient numbers, but not at the last second.

Avoid this company if you're travelling in small groups during off-peak season.
We went coasteering with Harmony In Nature instead, and they were amazing. We were again the only two people booked on, but they still continued with the activity (which required 2 guides), unlike Discovery Island

Canyoning was the first time for me. It was epic. Definitely recommended experience for everyone to try out. Just make sure you pick the right level. Be true with yourself! There are some high jumps. It was cold, I think the water about 5 degrees. Air temperature about 8. Altitude 1500m+.
But we had 5ml wetsuits, neoprene socks, canyoning boots, helmets, kept us surprisingly warm. Beautiful going down the Ribiero Frío.

Coasteering was amazing the day before. The sea water is about 18 degrees so was a lot warmer!! Air temperature about 16 being by the coast. Awesome jumps. Great scenery. Snorkeling and chocolate bar was a great plus!
