  We did coasteering and canyoning with Discovery Madeira now in February 2023.

Canyoning was the first time for me. It was epic. Definitely recommended experience for everyone to try out. Just make sure you pick the right level. Be true with yourself! There are some high jumps. It was cold, I think the water about 5 degrees. Air temperature about 8. Altitude 1500m+.
But we had 5ml wetsuits, neoprene socks, canyoning boots, helmets, kept us surprisingly warm. Beautiful going down the Ribiero Frío.

Coasteering was amazing the day before. The sea water is about 18 degrees so was a lot warmer!! Air temperature about 16 being by the coast. Awesome jumps. Great scenery. Snorkeling and chocolate bar was a great plus!

  Fantastic experience, worth every penny! We were picked up from the hotel, not knowing what to expect, initially thinking the Jeep ride was a little expensive; it is without doubt... read more the best way to experience all the different microclimates of Madeira.

Our local guide, Antonio, was full of interesting facts and extremely accommodating. We even stopped for some poncha at a great bar off the tourist track (highly recommended!).

Even if it’s cloudy, don’t be put off as the weather changes from one area of the island to another and if there are clouds on the peaks, it’s still breathtaking.

  I recommend coasteering with Luis. He was the sweetest and during our experience we were lucky enough to spot a seal!
This wonderful afternoon helped us discover a wilder... read more side of Madeira and was one more pleasant memory of our vacation. Luis told us everything we wanted to know about sea creatures and answered every question, all that between dives, climbs, snorkels and swims.
It hard getting information about our pictures in the end due to the fact they were busy; this is the only improvement suggestion I have.

  Daniel and Sandro made what was a great experience, one of the best I’ve ever had. The challenges for beginners were perfect, fun and thrilling. Everything felt and well organised... read more from the pick-up to the technical abseiling and jumping. We did 6 abseils, 3 jumps and 3 shoots. People with fear were treated with care and given time, people without fear were allowed to challenge themselves. I would recommend this brilliant company to anybody looking far a fun adventure in Madeira.

It was a good mix of off road and sightseeing day, with very good cheap food, fish with bananas... read more was a bit weird to be honest, but the gorgeous red wine went drown a treat. The your guide/driver(Nuno) was great telling us about the places we visited and a good guy. We enjoyed it so much that we are going to book another trip with Discovery Island!

Like his life motto when we die we die together, we plunged in the nicest dirt roads he could find. Both really knew the area well. Really recommend you book a trip to get away from all the usual suspected touristically points
