From booking, we received a WhatsApp message asking for our weight and shoe size for our wetsuits.
*Be aware that initially we were under the understanding that our booking was at 09:00 however this was changed to 14:30 (Apparently due to the weather although seemed same throughout the day) and we did not receive a text informing us, we became aware of this when we messaged on WhatsApp to confirm pick up time*
We were picked up and taken to the area where we were given our outfits, got into them and off we went.
The jumps had smaller options so not everyone had to go off the big rocks.
We had Martin and (We can't remember his name oops) and they were both amazing! Very knowledgable and teaching of all the sea creatures and structure of the rocks. Supportive, friendly and kind.
Snickers and water midway which is a pleasant sugar boost.
Finished with a few more jumps and a spot of snorkelling.
They even take pictures on the go pro around the coastline and email them to you for free which again is a bonus.

*Note: Having done a similar experience in UK I was aware about leaving bags in vans at the place where you park and therefore we had taken no money with us. We were gutted and frankly embarrassed that we were unable to tip the men as they were amazing - therefore ensure you take some money for this! *

  I booked and paid for a sunrise tour on August 26, 2022. I received an email confirmation of my payment but nothing else about pick-up time or location. I called... read more the tour operator to ensure I was confirmed for the tour (scheduled on September 3, 2022). I was reassured that my booking was confirmed. I asked about the pick-up time but was told I’ll receive information the day before the tour starts. I got a phone call the day prior to the tour informing me that the tour was canceled due to not enough participants. Canceling my tour the day before it starts is a big inconvenience because I’m on holiday for one week on this island, and one day is such short notice (and impossible) for me to book another tour. Very frustrated!

  Today me and my family went for a jeep ride. The tour was excellent as well as the guide, Marco. We saw some breathtaking views, such as the Fanal forest... read more or Porto Moniz. The tour was over 8 hours and for the whole time our guide was keeping us interested. He told us few wise stories and answered all of my question. I spent really great time and i think it's highly reccomended experience for everyone!

  Today we did a canyoning tour with Discovery Island Madeira and it was fantastic. We did the winter-canyon Ribeiro Frio and the environment was gorgeous. Several abseil waterfalls and... read more jumps. A good idea to do this activity when it rains. Since you're already wet, the rain doesn't bother you and makes the forest look even greener. You feel completely safe because of the experienced guides who take the time to explain everything and check the equipment. The wetsuits and shoes are also of great quality. And above all, it's really fun with guides Sandro, Filipe and "intern" Alex, who should definitely get a contract with a huge salary ;).

  We went on the 4x4 trip to the West of Madeira. It was a good mix of off road and sightseeing day, with very good cheap food, fish with bananas... read more was a bit weird to be honest, but the gorgeous red wine went drown a treat. The your guide/driver(Nuno) was great telling us about the places we visited and a good guy. We enjoyed it so much that we are going to book another trip with Discovery Island!
